Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Entry level position
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Must be able to follow oral instructions
  • Ability to stand and walk most of the day
  • Ability to climb stairs, turn, kneel, stoop, crouch, reach, push, pull, and handle cleaning equipment and supplies
  • Ability to lift and carry light to 20 pounds of equipment and linen

Job Qualifications

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to follow oral instructions
  • Knowledge of principles of growth and development over the lifespan

Job Duties

  • Performs cleaning functions in assigned areas following correct procedures
  • Follows all safety procedures as pertains to all federal and local safety standards and according to hospital and department procedures
  • Contributes to the efficient communication and cooperation inside and outside the department
  • Uses all cleaning supplies according to established procedures
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on assigned unit
  • Assesses data reflective of patient status and interprets appropriate information to identify patient requirements relative to age-specific needs
  • Provides care needed as described in unit's/area's/department's policies and procedures
