Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- ability to perform physical labor including lifting and standing for extended periods
- willingness to travel between Bounds Family YMCA and Spanish Fort Y Express
- ability to use cleaning chemicals safely
- experience operating motorized maintenance equipment preferred
- good communication and reporting skills
- ability to work flexible hours as needed
Job Qualifications
- Six months or more of related experience preferred
- ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
- ability to report and record maintenance requests
- knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment
- basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment
- understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use
Job Duties
- Cleans and sanitizes assigned areas including mopping, dusting, trash removal, and locker rooms
- completes daily maintenance duties such as window washing, painting, vacuuming, lawn care, and general cleaning
- operates motorized and non-motorized cleaning and maintenance equipment
- reports and performs repairs as directed
- ensures building and property security during shifts and reports incidents
- replaces supplies including soap and paper towels
- sets up furniture for events
- maintains inventory of supplies and restocks as needed
- carries out additional maintenance and housekeeping duties as assigned by supervisor
