Job Requirements

- Ability to participate in training and education programs
Job Qualifications
- Experience working in a healthcare environment in Environmental Services preferred
- Friendly attitude and excellent communication skills required
- Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication
- Must communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary care setting with residents, families and staff members
Job Duties
- Cleans resident rooms, bathrooms and common areas daily according to facility procedures
- Respects resident privacy and preferences when cleaning
- Cleans walls, ceilings, windows, mirrors and waxed floors following department procedures
- Secures housekeeping supplies out of reach of residents at all times
- Disposes of trash and biohazard waste according to facility policies
- Posts safety hazard signs during housekeeping activities
- Uses personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
- Complies with safety instructions when using chemicals and refers to Material Safety Data Sheets
- Monitors and reports rodent or pest evidence to supervisor
- Communicates with Maintenance Director regarding state inspections and attends survey training
- Reports any injuries to supervisor immediately
- Participates in in-service education programs and applies information to job tasks
- Monitors workplace for safety and fire hazards
- Participates in fire and disaster drills and performs duties during emergencies
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
