Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
- no previous experience required but current hospital Housekeeping experience is desired
- 1-3 years of relatable experience preferred
- ability to analyze situations and act within the scope of standard procedures under supervision of Floor Supervisor and/or Department Manager
Job Duties
- Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner in order to reflect the highest integrity of the Environmental Services Department
- completes work assignments in a timely manner
- uses the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure
- observes safety precautions at all times
- uses safety signs such as WET FLOOR and ropes off sections of the floor for cleaning where appropriate
- performs all aspects of assigned tasks in a manner that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical or health care errors
- knowledgeable of all cleaning chemicals used in surgical suite
- ability to dress out appropriately before entering or leaving surgical suite
- cleaning and sanitizing surgical suites and PACU
- removal of all surgical waste and refuse including both biohazard and standard refuse
- transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area
- always introduces self to patients, families, and visitors
