Job Duties
- Performs daily cleaning and or linen delivery tasks as assigned following all FHS policies and procedures
- dusts, cleans and disinfects vents, furniture, woodwork, bathroom fixtures, showers, whirlpools and portable equipment
- washes and makes beds
- cleans and disinfects operating and delivery rooms
- washes ceilings and walls
- sweeps and mops hallways, stairwells and public areas
- cleans sinks and toilets
- performs spot-cleaning, shampooing and or vacuuming carpets
- operates manual, battery-powered and electric cleaning equipment
- cleans and maintains equipment such as cleaning cart and janitor’s closet
- unloads clean linen carts, delivers linen supplies, stocks linens and removes soiled linens as assigned
- orders weekly cleaning supplies and chemicals for assigned areas
- wears prescribed protective gear appropriate to assignment and follows hospital safety, risk management, and infection control practices including hand washing and sanitizing protocols
- gathers and disposes of garbage, waste, soiled linen and infectious and regular trash in prescribed manner
