Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
- Prior experience with cleaning and sanitation preferred
- Ability to operate mechanical floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, washers and dryers
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, patients and hospital staff
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions
- Willingness to work evening shifts, variable days and every other weekend
- Ability to adhere to local, state and federal safety and sanitization regulations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
- Knowledge of maintaining a sterile environment including proper cleaning procedures and various equipment
- Ability to interpret data and instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- Possess written and verbal communication skills
- Well-developed time management and organizational skills
- Ability to operate basic environmental service equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies and procedures
- Ability to identify, evaluate and resolve problems
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and staff
Job Duties
- Perform a variety of cleaning tasks to maintain cleanliness of patient rooms, offices, hallways and other assigned areas
- Handle transport, equipment handling, room set-up, trash removal, and linen handling duties
- Distribute supplies to departments and maintain stock levels
- Communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, patients and other hospital personnel
- Adhere to local, state and federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure sanitization and safety
- Operate basic environmental service equipment including mechanical floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, washers and dryers
- Identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options
