Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • no previous experience required
  • current hospital housekeeping experience desired
  • 1-3 years of relatable experience preferred
  • ability to perform tasks under supervision
  • ability to analyze situations and act within standard procedures
  • willingness to adhere to dress code and maintain neat appearance
  • ability to maintain patient confidentiality
  • punctuality and reliability
  • positive representation of organization in community
  • effective communication of facility mission and ethics

Job Duties

  • Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner
  • completes work assignments in a timely manner
  • uses the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure
  • observes safety precautions at all times including use of safety signs and roping off wet floor areas
  • performs all aspects of assigned tasks in a manner that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical health care errors
  • knowledgeable of all cleaning chemicals used in surgical suite
  • able to dress appropriately before entering and leaving surgical suite
  • cleans and sanitizes surgical suites and PACU
  • removes all surgical waste and refuse including biohazard and standard refuse
  • transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area
  • introduces self to patients, families and visitors
