Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience working in a long-term care facility preferred
- Ability to read and understand procedure and instruction manuals and directions
- Basic math skills
- Ability to solve practical problems
- Ability to interpret instructions in various forms
- Fluent in written and spoken English

- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Fluent in written and spoken English
Job Duties
- Maintain all public and common areas throughout the day including lobby, restrooms, drinking fountains and floors
- Maintain the cleanliness of resident rooms and bathrooms
- Maintain handrails to ensure they are clean and free of debris
- Clean and remove dust, dirt or food off walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, towel dispensers
- Empty trash cans and replace liners
- Sweep and mop floors
- Utilize proper safety measures when cleaning, including the use of caution signage and keeping supplies and chemicals out of reach of the residents
- Use supplies and equipment in a safe manner by following the user manual instructions
- Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment and storage areas in a safe, sanitary, clean and orderly manner
- Notify the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing immediately regarding resident safety issues or concerns
- Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies are needing replenished
- Excellent customer skills and positive attitude
- Excellent time-management skills
- Ability to work independently or with a team
