Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • experience working in a long term care facility preferred
  • ability to read and understand procedural and instruction manuals
  • basic math skills
  • problem-solving abilities
  • interpret instructions in various forms
  • fluency in English
  • ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds
  • able to sit, kneel, stand, walk, talk, read and hear regularly
  • ability to handle housekeeping equipment and supplies safely

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • experience working in a long term care facility preferred
  • ability to read and understand procedure and instruction manuals and directions
  • basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • fluent in written and spoken English

Job Duties

  • Maintain all public and common areas throughout the day including lobby, restrooms, drinking fountains and floors
  • maintain the cleanliness of resident rooms and bathrooms
  • maintain handrails to ensure they are clean and free of debris
  • clean and remove dust, dirt or food off walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, towel dispensers
  • empty trash cans and replace liners
  • sweep and mop floors
  • utilize proper safety measures when cleaning including the use of caution signage and keeping supplies and chemicals out of reach of the residents
  • use supplies and equipment in a safe manner by following the user manual instructions
  • maintain housekeeping carts, equipment and storage areas in a safe, sanitary, clean and orderly manner
  • notify the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing immediately regarding resident safety issues or concerns
  • notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies are needing replenished
