Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Some experience preferred
  • Ability to speak fluent English
  • Ability to read, write, and understand simple instructions in English
  • Successful completion of departmental training program within 30 days of employment
  • Must comply with all hospital and workplace safety policies
  • Willingness to work night shifts
  • Ability to use personal protective equipment and follow safety protocols

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Some experience in cleaning or housekeeping preferred
  • Ability to speak fluent English
  • Ability to read, write, and understand simple instructions in English
  • Completion of departmental training program within first 30 days
  • Knowledge of infection prevention protocols
  • Familiarity with proper waste handling and disposal methods

Job Duties

  • Perform regular, terminal, and isolation cleaning in hospital specialty areas
  • Properly remove, place, and transport various types of waste including solid, chemotherapy, bio-hazard, pharmaceutical, and hot waste
  • Use Ultra Violet Light devices safely and effectively
  • Change out, remove, and replace containers such as sharps, pharmacy waste, bio-hazard, and chemotherapy waste containers
  • Follow infection prevention protocols and use proper cleaning chemicals
  • Maintain cleanliness of walls, doors, glass, furniture, equipment, and floors
  • Exhibit excellent customer service and interpersonal skills when interacting with staff, patients, and visitors
