Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous experience in housekeeping or laundry preferred
- Ability to work in a resident-centered environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols
- Desire to work with seniors
- Ability to lift and move supplies and equipment safely
- Availability to work varying shifts as needed
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents and team members
- Commitment to adhere to Sunrise’s policies and procedures
- Must pass a drug test and participate in required health screenings
- Valid driver’s license if driving Sunrise vehicles

- Basic knowledge of cleaning and laundry equipment
Job Duties
- Perform general housekeeping duties in resident suites, public areas, and support areas as assigned while meeting or exceeding Sunrise quality standards
- Perform cleaning duties according to schedule in assigned areas such as resident suites, bathrooms, common areas, and offices including sweeping, dusting, mopping floors, vacuuming, cleaning fixtures and furniture
- Knock on residents doors before entering and respect their privacy during cleaning
- Maintain equipment and supplies in a clean and orderly condition
- Transport supplies including clean and soiled linen to appropriate storage and collection areas
- Collect trash and maintain trash receptacles in a clean and sanitary manner
- Collect, clean, and redistribute community laundry
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, count, and stack linens following approved laundry procedures
- Inspect linens for wear and tear and follow community procedures for damaged linens
- Maintain commercial laundry area in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition
- Assist care managers and department coordinators with resident care when requested
- Practice positive resident relations and respond to resident requests appropriately
- Review and document pertinent resident information and changes in the Daily Log
- Ensure cleaning chemicals are stored securely
- Keep equipment and hazards out of the way and comply with fire codes
- Follow occupational health and safety requirements and risk management policies
- Use personal protective equipment and follow safety procedures
- Maintain equipment to avoid waste and prevent accidents
- Comply with infection control techniques and bio-hazard procedures
- Participate actively as a team member and commit to team goals
- Demonstrate the Team Member Credo in daily interactions
- Commit to serving residents through Principles of Service
- Engage in team and customer engagement programs
- Attend required meetings and training
- Perform other duties as assigned
