Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Understanding of safe and effective housekeeping practices
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and move equipment and supplies over 50 lbs
  • Ability to walk, bend, lift and stand for long periods during shifts

Job Qualifications

  • Thorough understanding of the principles of safe effective housekeeping practices within the state of employment
  • Ability to be a team player to partner with other departments
  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and move equipment, supplies, etc in excess of 50 lbs
  • Ability to do constant walking, bending, lifting and standing for long periods during a scheduled shift

Job Duties

  • Maintain cleaning schedules for assigned area
  • Coordinating routine and terminal isolation procedures with nursing services
  • Maintain knowledge of safety regulations, policies and procedures and following the established safety procedures and precautions
  • Reporting all unsafe or hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc. to supervisor immediately
  • Honoring the residents' personal and property rights
  • Filing complaints or grievances with supervisor in a timely fashion
  • Following established policies and procedures of laundry tasks
  • Use proper protocols for picking up soiled linens, including isolation linens, and transporting them to the laundry department
  • Use proper protective clothing and equipment while performing laundry duties
  • Maintain all cleaning schedules for each assigned area and following the laundry department schedules
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all residents and their care to ensure residents rights, privacy and property are protected at all times
  • Report and document resident and/or visitor incidents, accidents, complaints or allegations according to the facility’s policy and procedure using the designated occurrence reporting system
