Job Requirements

ability to read, speak and understand English sufficiently to follow directions and communicate with supervisor, co-workers and residents
first aid certification
criminal records clearance from Department of Justice and FBI
health screening and T.B./CXR clearance
ability to operate janitorial equipment
ability to exert moderate physical effort
ability to apply common sense understanding to perform repetitive tasks
ability to use independent judgement in routine situations
ability to comprehend and correctly use a variety of informational documents including schedules and manuals
ability to speak and understand English sufficiently to communicate verbally
ability to work in a health care environment
ability to work indoors subject to dust, dirt and toxic cleaning agents

Job Qualifications

ability to read, speak and understand English sufficiently to follow directions and communicate with supervisor, co-workers and residents
some housekeeping experience is desirable but not essential
ability to operate janitorial equipment such as window scrapers, brooms, mops, vacuum cleaners, washer, dryer and hand tools
ability to exert moderate physical effort required for walking, standing, bending, reaching, stretching and grasping
ability to comprehend and correctly use informational documents including schedules, work orders, manuals, policy and procedure forms, and Material Safety Data Sheets
ability to speak and understand English effectively to communicate with residents, supervisor and co-workers

Job Duties

know and understand the vision, purpose, values and goals of Amber Grove Place Management, LLC
follow work schedules
clean bathrooms including toilets, sinks, tubs, showers and floors, replenish paper supplies and soap as necessary
clean kitchen areas including counter tops and floors, replenish paper supplies and soap as necessary
dust and clean desks and other furniture, doors, baseboards and windowsills
sweep, mop and vacuum floor surfaces and furniture, may spot clean carpets
wash windows
empty trash receptacles, may deposit recyclable material in proper receptacles
may push a utility cart within the retirement community
take note of safety concerns and needed repairs and report to supervisor
may change bed linens once weekly or as necessary for all residential care apartments
attend in-service training workshops and meetings as required
conduct work tasks safely and in compliance with the community's safety program
provide and protect the rights of all residents
perform other related essential work as required
may, upon resident's absence, clean and disinfect room, bed, furniture, bathroom, cabinets and clothes closet
sweep around dining room tables in dining room after breakfast and noon meal
provide effective and courteous service to all residents, guests and co-workers
ensure that common areas are sanitized in accordance with established infectious disease control policies and procedures
also responsible for resident laundry services
