Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in housekeeping or janitorial work preferred
  • ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting and moving furniture
  • knowledge of cleaning techniques and disinfectants
  • ability to adhere to safety standards
  • good communication skills
  • ability to manage laundry operations
  • flexibility to work 40 hours per week with varying start times

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in housekeeping or janitorial services preferred
  • ability to follow safety and cleaning protocols
  • basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • good communication skills
  • physical ability to perform manual labor including lifting and moving furniture and equipment
  • reliability and punctuality

Job Duties

  • supports and models behaviors consistent with Billings Clinic’s mission, vision, values, code of business conduct and service expectations
  • cleans and services various areas including patient rooms, isolation rooms, physician’s offices, surgery, dialysis, radiology, public access areas, waiting rooms, offices, stairwells, elevators, restrooms and laundry
  • maintains floors by sweeping, mopping, stripping, finishing, buffing and refinishing hard floor surfaces
  • shampoos carpets and furniture
  • removes trash and linens from assigned areas
  • washes windows, walls, vents, lights and baseboards with appropriate disinfectants
  • dusts and polishes hard surfaces
  • moves furniture and equipment within the facility and to off-site storage as needed
  • changes curtains and drapes as required
  • delivers and replenishes supplies
  • coordinates laundry services including collection, sorting, weighing of soiled laundry and distribution of clean laundry and linen garments
  • maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency safety standards
  • identifies needs for own growth and development
  • performs other duties as assigned
