Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, and reach for most of the shift
  • Effective spoken and written English communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Demonstrated reliability and punctuality
  • Ability to follow established policies and procedures
  • Willingness to participate in safety and training programs
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of resident information

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or environmental services preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment
  • Ability to follow safety and infection control procedures
  • Physical ability to perform job tasks including lifting, standing, walking
  • Willingness to attend training and complete required courses

Job Duties

  • Provide services to assure nursing units, ancillary areas, resident rooms, and resident care areas are clean and sanitary and kept neat and orderly
  • Speak, read and understand English sufficient to receive oral instructions, document and communicate with residents and co-workers
  • Conduct self with integrity, respect for others and converse with staff, residents, and families in a caring, empathetic manner
  • Lift up to 35 pounds, walk, stand and reach 90% of an 8 hour shift, occasionally climb ladders
  • Attend in-service programs and demonstrate interest in learning
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adapt to changes in procedures and assignments
  • Work cooperatively with co-workers demonstrating positive and flexible manners
  • Organize workload to completion per policies and procedures
  • Maintain reliability and punctuality
  • Participate in warm-up exercises to reduce injury risk
  • Adhere to Volunteer Protection Program and Risk Management/Safety Policies
  • Keep equipment and surfaces clean, sanitary and orderly using appropriate disinfectant
  • Perform deep cleaning of vacated resident rooms
  • Follow infection control guidelines including handwashing, glove use, and isolation precautions
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms, floors, carpets, beds, and resident care equipment daily
  • Maintain housekeeping supplies and clean housekeeping closet
  • Empty and disinfect garbage containers regularly
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of resident information
  • Participate in Safety Committee and QAPI studies
  • Rotate into Laundry as scheduled
  • Complete online required course studies through learning management system
