Job Requirements
- Appropriate training and/or background in a similar setting
- Ability to properly clean resident rooms and common areas including vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, polishing, mopping, disinfecting
- Ability to properly discard waste into proper containers
- Ability to assist with general housekeeping duties
- Physical capability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs and carry objects
- Ability to push and pull carts
- Ability to continuously walk, sit and stand during shifts
- Ability to turn, crouch, kneel, stoop, bend below waist and reach above shoulder height
- Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and chemicals
- Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks with consideration for residents and co-workers
- Positive attitude toward service provided
- Willingness to attend trainings and orientations
- Compliance with non-discrimination policies
Job Qualifications
- Ability to maintain a clean and neat environment
- Knowledge of cleaning practices and substances
- Ability to identify cleaning needs and safety hazards
- Strong communication skills in English, both oral and written
- Physical ability to lift, bend, stretch, kneel and stand for extended periods
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous housekeeping experience in health care or hospitality setting preferred
- None required for certificates or licenses
Job Duties
- Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living to residents, visitors, co-workers and the surrounding community
- As an associate, actively participate in community occupancy growth by positively representing and interacting with potential residents, family members and professionals
- Thoroughly clean bathrooms including toilets, vanities, sinks, showers, shower seats and floors with appropriate cleaning solutions
- Completely clean kitchen areas including wiping counters and underneath objects, and mopping kitchen floors
- Empty wastebaskets and replace bags
- Dust and polish all surfaces
- Wipe off all surfaces including windowsills, woodwork and counters
- Clean carpets by vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting
- Clean all common areas and common bathrooms daily and as often as needed
- Maintain housekeeping carts in a clean and orderly manner
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Attend required in-service trainings and orientations
- Remove, fold and return bed linens
- Wash and fold linens
- Fill other positions as needed when a colleague is out
- Clean and wash windows
- Clean and dust blinds
- Pick up general outdoor areas as needed
- Perform other duties as requested
