Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- ability to perform physical tasks associated with housekeeping
- understanding of safety procedures and chemical use
- ability to communicate effectively
- willingness to attend training and comply with policies
- ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Job Qualifications
- experience in institutional housekeeping or maintenance is helpful
- experience in the use of floor-care equipment is helpful
- ability to read, write, and speak the English language
Job Duties
- cleans and sanitizes patient rooms, bathrooms, and common areas daily in accordance with facility protocols
- uses proper chemicals in proper portions and performs dust mopping, wet mopping, or spot-mopping floors
- empties trash containers, replaces liners, and disposes of trash appropriately
- vacuums carpets as directed by supervisor
- utilizes proper chemicals and equipment to wash and dry windows
- reports repair needs to supervisor or maintenance department
- requests needed supplies and equipment from supervisor
- identifies and corrects safety hazards and abides by safety rules
- enforces abuse prevention policies
- attends weekly in-services and complies with patient care management systems
- assures patient and resident safety
- performs other duties and tasks as assigned
