Job Requirements

  • On-the-job training
  • High school education preferred
  • Supervisory experience in healthcare setting preferred
  • Ability to perform housekeeping duties
  • Knowledge of safety protocols
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to evaluate and train staff

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum two years experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, long term care center, or other related healthcare facility preferred
  • Training in environmental control practices preferred but not required

Job Duties

  • Coordinate and oversee the activities and actions assigned to housekeeping partners
  • Inspect and make daily rounds to ensure housekeeping duties are being performed and that procedures meet facility needs
  • Evaluate productivity and quality of work of each employee and determine additional training needs
  • Report occupational exposure to bodily fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals in accordance with facility policies and procedures
  • Ensure housekeeping partners are wearing personal protective equipment and using safety supplies
  • Review and assist in the plan of correction for housekeeping deficiencies noted during surveys
  • Ensure stock level of housekeeping supplies are maintained
  • Participate in departmental budget planning and supplies for housekeeping
  • Perform all job duty responsibilities of housekeeping partners
