Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred
- Must be flexible to work shifts including evenings and weekends
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and 50 pounds frequently
- Ability to stand for entire shift
- Ability to reach overhead, bend, stoop, kneel and use both hands
- Ability to operate light equipment such as vacuum cleaners and dishwashers
- Ability to climb and descend stairs during shift
- Strong communication skills in English
- Ability to understand and follow instructions
- Must comply with safety protocols when handling cleaning agents and equipment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Knowledge of hotel, housekeeping, and hotel laundry operations required
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings and weekends
- Ability to work long hours when required
- Demonstrates initiative, responsibility, and flexibility
- Excellent time management skills
- Friendly and cooperative manner with patience in dealing with customers and staff
- Proficient in written and verbal English communication
- Ability to understand and follow directions and work objectives
- Awareness of potential hazards and safety procedures with cleaning agents and machinery
- Integrity in securing guest belongings
- Effective in listening and clarifying concerns of guests and coworkers
Job Duties
- Receive a list of rooms and public areas to be cleaned during shift
- Complete pre-cleaning duties including housekeeping cart set-up with guest supplies, cleaning supplies, and linen
- Change bed linens and scrub pots using both hands
- Reach overhead to dust and clean tops of equipment and place items in cupboards
- Move light furniture to clean under items
- Practice safe use of cleaning agents and follow safety protocols
- Prepare housekeeping cart for next day use
- Remove all trash and dirty linen from guest suites
- Keep hallways, public areas, and closets clean and vacuumed
- Report missing items to Executive Housekeeper
- Use two-way radios, telephones, and housekeeping equipment properly
- Ensure proper care and maintenance of housekeeping equipment
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and follow dress code
- Maintain professional and friendly demeanor at all times
- Be attentive, courteous, and efficient with guests and staff
- Comply with brand standards for safe and efficient hotel operations
- Establish good communications and teamwork with hotel staff
- Exhibit helpful attitude to accommodate guest requests
- Communicate with staff to handle special guest needs
- Participate in employee meetings and events
- Be familiar with hotel policies, rules, and terminology
