Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED preferred
- one year experience in a health care facility preferred
- ability to read, write, and speak English
- ability to follow instructions
- ability to work safely with cleaning equipment and chemicals
- ability to communicate effectively with team members and residents
- willingness to maintain cleanliness and safety standards
- commitment to teamwork and respect for residents
- ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting and moving supplies
- understanding of infection control and safety procedures
- ability to maintain confidentiality
- willingness to attend staff meetings and training
- availability to work part-time or as-needed schedule
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- perform specific tasks according to daily assignments and housekeeping procedures
- assure assigned areas are clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive
- follow infection control practices
- observe safety precautions when using equipment and supplies
- clean and polish furnishings, fixtures, and room units
- sanitize bathroom fixtures
- clean windows and mirrors
- sweep, dust, mop, strip, wax, buff, disinfect, and maintain floors
- vacuum, shampoo, deodorize, and disinfect carpets
- clean walls and ceilings
- remove dirt and grease with proper solutions
- clean hallways, stairways, and elevators
- properly discard waste and maintain trash receptacles
- report hazardous conditions and equipment
- maintain proper storage of equipment and supplies
- ensure adequate inventory of housekeeping supplies
- report burnt-out bulbs and lighting issues
- perform terminal cleaning for discharged or transferred residents
- adhere to cleaning schedules
- follow fire-safety policies
- assist with lifting heavy equipment as needed
- report accidents and incidents
- maintain confidentiality of resident information
- respect residents' personal property
- turn in lost and found items
- attend departmental and staff meetings
- keep work areas free of hazards
