Job Requirements
- Knowledgeable of general cleaning principles
- Desire to work with seniors
- Able to perform physical tasks including standing, lifting, walking, bending and reaching
- Ability to understand and follow directions
- Must be dependable and trustworthy
- Must maintain confidentiality of personal and health information
- Availability to work part-time on weekends
- Must comply with infection control, fire, safety and sanitation practices
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or general education degree (GED)
- Basic computer skills with familiarity in Microsoft environment
- No previous experience required as skills are learned on the job
- Strong ethical standards and accountability
- Ability to build positive relationships with residents and coworkers
- Demonstrates flexibility and reliability
- Effective communication and time management skills
Job Duties
- Clean, disinfect and straighten resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, common areas, elevators, stairways, laundry room and other work areas so health standards are met
- Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture and draperies using a vacuum cleaner and/or shampooer
- Sweep, scrub, wax, and disinfect sinks, tubs, toilets and bathing rooms
- Polish silver accessories and metalwork such as fixtures and fittings
- Dust and polish furniture, woodwork and equipment
- Wash windows, door panels and sills
- Empty wastebaskets and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas/trash receptacles
