Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • one year related experience or training preferred
  • ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl frequently
  • ability to communicate effectively with residents and team members
  • reliable attendance and punctuality
  • ability to follow safety protocols and report hazards

  • capacity to remain during emergencies and inclement weather as essential personnel

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • ability to write simple correspondence
  • ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
  • high school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • one year related experience and/or training preferred
  • knowledge of basic cleaning procedures and safety practices
  • ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions
  • ability to work effectively with residents, families, and team members
  • understanding of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality requirements

Job Duties

  • Follows established cleaning schedule
  • completes daily dusting, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping of all common areas
  • follows established schedule for deep cleaning of resident rooms
  • cleans administrative offices as scheduled
  • cleans and sanitizes bathrooms
  • cleans carpets and mops all floors upon request
  • maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment for all residents
  • ensures and supports a dignified and caring atmosphere for residents, families, visitors, and associates
  • responds promptly and courteously to residents', families', and visitors' requests for assistance
  • speaks to and interacts with residents showing empathy, kindness, compassion, and respect
  • communicates effectively in a language that each resident can understand
  • maintains a safe and secure working environment free from hazards
  • practices good body mechanics and safe working habits
  • observes and reports safety hazards immediately
  • provides assistance to associates when requested
  • knows and follows established policy and procedures in emergencies
  • considered essential personnel during emergencies and inclement weather
  • works as a team player with other associates and management
  • demonstrates a positive and respectful attitude about work issues
  • complies with attendance and call off policy
  • attends and participates in trainings, in-service, and mandatory meetings
  • wears clean and appropriate dress per dress code
  • refrains from discussing resident issues with families and visitors and refers inquiries to nursing supervisor
  • complies with HIPAA regulations
  • provides hands-on assistance when requested by nursing staff
  • participates in leisure activities for residents
  • serves and assists residents in the dining room at meals daily
  • takes on special projects or assignments willingly
  • performs all other reasonable duties as assigned
