Job Requirements

  • Experience in institutional housekeeping or maintenance
  • Experience in the use of floor-care equipment
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language
  • Willingness to comply with Housekeeping Supervisor instructions
  • Ability to identify and correct safety hazards
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment
  • Ability to work PRN (as needed)

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in institutional housekeeping or maintenance is helpful
  • Experience in the use of floor-care equipment is helpful
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language
  • Knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
  • Commitment to teamwork and patient safety
  • Familiarity with abuse prevention policies

Job Duties

  • Clean and sanitize patient rooms, bathrooms, and common areas daily in accordance with facility protocols
  • Use proper chemicals in proper portions for cleaning
  • Dust mop, wet mop, or spot-mop floors
  • Empty trash containers, replace liners, and dispose of trash properly
  • Vacuum carpets as directed
  • Utilize proper chemicals and equipment to wash and dry windows
  • Report repair needs to supervisor or maintenance department as appropriate
  • Request needed supplies and equipment from supervisor
  • Identify and correct safety hazards and abide by safety rules
  • Attend weekly in-services and comply with patient care management systems
  • Assure patient and resident safety
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned
