Job Requirements

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior housekeeping or porter experience preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including walking, standing, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Must possess government-issued ID or valid driver’s license if required
  • Must be able to work Monday through Friday
  • Ability to follow OSHA standards and company safety policies
  • Must maintain professional appearance and wear required uniform
  • Ability to perform routine equipment maintenance
  • Must be detail oriented and able to multitask
  • Availability to participate in standby emergency schedule

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior housekeeping or porter experience preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed instructions
  • Work under time constraints
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and build positive relationships
  • Physical ability to perform multi-level property access and outdoor work
  • Ability to follow company safety procedures and participate in safety training

Job Duties

  • Practice OSHA standards and company safety policy and stay aware of work-safety requirements
  • Continue education of safety training as required by company and/or State and Federal Law
  • Complete a hazard assessment form before beginning any task
  • Assist other team members when necessary
  • Use make ready cleaning checklist and turn it in to the Community Manager for all apartment homes cleaned
  • Clean all common areas at least once per day
  • Clean and monitor restrooms for cleanliness and inventory at least twice per day
  • Care for and maintain all cleaning equipment and keep an inventory
  • Communicate verbally and in writing with supervisor no less than once daily
  • Report unusual or extraordinary circumstances regarding the property, co-workers, or residents
  • Maintain required property uniform and ensure professional appearance and attitude at all times
  • Water potted plants in community areas daily and newly planted foliage as directed
  • Perform landscaping duties including mowing, trimming, fertilizing, raking, and pulling weeds
  • Paint exterior of buildings as needed
  • Pick up litter and trash daily
  • Clean and maintain exterior light fixtures and replace bulbs
  • Install and maintain fences and gates
  • Care for pools and assist with pool area maintenance
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on all equipment according to manufacturers’ recommendations
  • Maintain lawn and cleaning equipment as per company guidelines
  • Pressure wash and blow walks and breezeways
  • Participate in standby emergency schedule for evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ensure storage areas and entrances are locked and adequately lit
  • Assist in custodial tasks like sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash and pet stations, and cleaning windows in common areas
