Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center (SBVCC) is a premier healthcare facility located in Richmond, Virginia, dedicated to providing exceptional care for Virginia's veterans. Job Requirements
- One year prior housekeeping experience required
- Experience in long-term care facility or hospital preferred
- Ability to perform physical tasks including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods
- Completion of background criminal history check
- Successful pre-employment drug test
- TB skin test upon hiring
- Compliance with CMS COVID-19 vaccination mandate or approved exemption
- Ability to work the 7 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. shift including every other weekend
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior housekeeping experience of at least 1 year
- Experience working in long-term care or hospital settings preferred
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively
- Knowledge of sanitation and infection control procedures
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Job Duties
- Ensuring the facility is kept clean by dusting, mopping, sweeping, damp/wet mopping, polishing, scrubbing, vacuuming, trash removal and for the removal of bio-hazard waste
- Keeping their assigned areas clean and attractive
- Promoting sanitary conditions to prevent the spread of infection
- Ensuring all equipment is in working order
- Completing their daily routine
- performing cross-trained duties in other areas of Environmental Services as needed
