Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED preferred
  • able to provide housekeeping and laundry services in resident centered environment meeting or exceeding Sunrise quality standards
  • desire to work with seniors
  • ability to follow community policies and procedures
  • ability to handle cleaning equipment and chemicals safely
  • physical ability to perform cleaning and laundry tasks
  • ability to work Tuesday through Saturday 8 AM to 4 PM
  • as applicable, review and sign Driver job description if driving Sunrise vehicle
  • pass pre-employment drug test
  • participate in required health testing
  • comply with COVID-19 and influenza vaccination mandates as required

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED preferred
  • experience providing housekeeping and laundry services in a resident-centered environment
  • desire to work with seniors
  • ability to follow procedures and quality standards
  • good organizational and time management skills
  • effective verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to work semi-independently and demonstrate initiative
  • ability to handle multiple priorities and frequent interruptions
  • willingness to participate in team engagements
  • understanding of safety and infection control practices

Job Duties

  • perform general housekeeping duties in resident suites, public areas, and support areas
  • perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming floors, rugs, and carpets
  • clean, sanitize, and polish lavatory, shower, and sink fixtures
  • dust, wash, sponge mop, sanitize and hand shampoo furniture
  • knock on residents' doors before entering and respect privacy
  • maintain equipment and supplies in a clean and orderly condition
  • transport supplies including linens to appropriate areas
  • collect and remove trash maintaining cleanliness
  • collect, clean, and redistribute laundry
  • sort, wash, dry, fold, count, and stack linens per procedures
  • inspect linens for wear and tear and follow SOP for damaged items
  • assist care managers with resident care when requested
  • practice positive resident relations and respond to resident requests
  • document resident information in Daily Log
  • ensure cleaning chemicals are stored and locked
  • keep cords, carts, and equipment clear of hazards
  • comply with occupational health and safety regulations
  • practice safety procedures including PPE and fire extinguisher use
  • maintain equipment to avoid waste and accidents
  • comply with infection control techniques
  • participate in team and community engagement programs
  • attend meetings as directed
  • maintain compliance with required training
  • perform other duties as assigned
