Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent or equivalent work experience
- Must be able to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks such as bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, and pulling
- Ability to safely handle organic body waste
- Must adhere to safety standards and protocols including the use of caution signs
- Must be capable of performing cleaning tasks following established methods and schedules
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Must be able to work scheduled shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as required
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to understand and converse in English at a level allowing safe and efficient job performance
- Experience in environmental services related tasks
- Competency in using proper cleaning chemicals
- Manual dexterity and ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to perform cleaning of emergency spills and discharge cleaning protocols
- Customer service orientation towards staff and patients
Job Duties
- Perform the 8-step cleaning procedures including daily cleaning and discharge cleaning
- Make beds and perform wall spotting and toilet cleaning
- Conduct high and low dusting and operating room terminal cleaning
- Use caution signs and cones to ensure workplace safety
- Clean up organic body waste including blood and body fluids as instructed
- Hang cubical curtains, shower curtains, and window curtains
- Disinfect and sanitize intravenous poles, pumps, and other patient equipment during discharge cleaning
