- must be able to perform all cleaning tasks following established schedules and methods
- ability to learn and demonstrate new procedures related to healthcare cleaning
- ability to work night shifts including weekends and rotating holidays
- physical capability to lift and carry 35lbs with assisted devices
- ability to use caution signs and maintain a safe work environment
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- ability to understand and converse in English at a level allowing safe and efficient job performance
- adherence to all I C.A.R.E standards
- competent in using proper cleaning chemicals
- ability to perform both basic and heavier cleaning functions
- demonstrated service orientation to staff and patients
- ability to follow department guidelines related to environmental services tasks
Job Duties
- perform the 8 steps cleaning procedures including daily and discharge cleaning
- make beds and spot clean walls
- clean toilets and perform high and low dusting
- execute operating room terminal cleaning
- use caution signs and cones to ensure safety
- report incomplete assignments and maintenance issues
- clean up organic body waste including blood and body fluids
- hang cubical, shower, and window curtains
- disinfect and sanitize IV poles, pumps, and patient equipment
- assist in manpower support for office moves and conference room setups
- respond to emergency spills and assist nursing during community disasters
