Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or ability to pass a written TABE test
- ability to read, write and understand English
- ability to follow simple oral and written directions
- excellent customer service skills
- ability to stand and walk for duration of shift
- ability to use cleaning equipment such as mops, buckets, cleaning solutions, vacuum cleaners, utility carts, floor cleaning machines, and wet/dry vacuums
- ability to work days, evenings or weekends as required
- ability to travel between work sites
- valid New York State driver's license free from major infractions and acceptable by insurance carrier
- access to reliable vehicle
- ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- ability to frequently stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, talk, see and perform repetitive motions
- willingness to work in environments exposed to odors, medical wastes, disease and unsanitary conditions

Job Duties
- Monitors refrigerators and removes spoiled food
- follows principles of infection control and universal precautions
- cleans blood and bodily fluids as needed
- observes and reports pest control issues and participates in corrective action plans
- observes and reports unusual room and environmental safety conditions
- performs cleaning procedures after resident discharge or transfer to prepare rooms for new occupancy
- assists new residents with move-in tasks such as hanging clothing
- makes beds and straightens residents' rooms
- cleans hallways, stairways and elevators
- responds to work orders promptly and completes necessary documentation
- cleans staff and participant bathrooms, clinic, break rooms, and kitchens
- demonstrates compliance with organizational policies and code of conduct
- adheres to service excellence standards by maintaining respectful relationships
- follows the emergency preparedness plan and understands their role in events
- promotes and role models mission and values in all interactions
- demonstrates excellent customer service skills
- attends required meetings and training
- complies with dress code and health safety policies
- practices and teaches safety awareness
- understands and complies with HIPAA and regulatory requirements
- performs related duties as assigned
