- Ability to perform physical cleaning tasks including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior housekeeping or cleaning experience in a healthcare or similar setting preferred
- ability to understand and follow health and safety protocols
- good communication skills
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- attention to detail and reliability
Job Duties
- Cleans assigned resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas daily and according to facility policy while maintaining resident's privacy
- washes beds and mattresses and remakes beds after discharge of residents
- keeps utility and storage rooms in clean and orderly condition
- disinfects and sterilizes equipment and supplies
- posts signs indicating a safety hazard when housekeeping activities pose environmental risks
- dusts furniture, handrails, and equipment
- washes walls, ceilings, and woodwork
- washes windows, door panels, and sills
- empties wastebaskets including biohazardous waste according to facility procedures
- transports trash and waste to disposal area
- uses personal protective equipment when exposed to hazardous body fluids
- complies with safety instructions when using chemical substances and keeps chemicals in original containers
- monitors workplace for safety and fire hazards and reports problems
- participates in fire and disaster drills and performs assigned duties during emergencies to ensure resident safety
