Job Requirements
- must be a minimum of eighteen years of age
- must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism
- must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public
- must be willing to work harmoniously with other personnel and handle residents according to their maturity level
- must be able to move intermittently throughout the work day
- must maintain sight and hearing senses or use prosthetics that enable adequate functioning
- must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability
- must be able to lift, push, pull, and move equipment and supplies throughout the work day
- must be willing to work beyond normal hours and in other positions temporarily when necessary
- must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
- must follow established safety procedures when performing housekeeping duties
- must be willing to work weekends and holidays
- must be able to sit, stand, bend, and move intermittently during working hours
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- one year of experience in a long term care setting preferred but not required
- ability to relate positively and effectively with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and staff
- basic computer knowledge with aptitude to learn company applications
- meets all health requirements as required by law
Job Duties
- Follow all housekeeping procedures set forth by the housekeeping director
- communicate with housekeeping personnel and other department personnel
- maintain the appearance of housekeeping areas in a safe, clean, and comfortable manner
- ensure proper use and care of cleaning supplies and equipment
- attend and participate in continuing educational programs, in-services, and on the job training
- interact professionally with residents, family, and co-workers
- perform housekeeping duties in compliance with federal, state, and local standards and regulations
