Job Requirements

  • Ability to work the specified hours including day shift 7:00am - 3:30pm
  • Availability on every other weekend and holidays
  • Capability to perform essential job functions satisfactorily
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others
  • Hearing ability to understand and distinguish speech and sounds
  • Commitment to uphold confidentiality
  • Physical ability to move furniture and complete cleaning tasks
  • Willingness to comply with safety and regulatory standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • One to three months related experience
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with visual acuity and effective communication skills
  • Ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
  • Commitment to daily application of Avera's mission, vision, core values, and social principles
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Adherence to safety principles, laws, regulations, and standards such as CMS, The Joint Commission, DHHS, and OSHA

Job Duties

  • Maintains a clean and neat environment in working areas including patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse's stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas
  • Participates in all cleaning activities such as dusting, washing, drying, mopping, vacuuming, moving furniture, and emptying trash
  • Keeps assigned area fully stocked with supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, and other necessary items
  • Responsible for maintaining stock on individual cleaning carts including wet and dry supplies
  • Maintain good customer relations at all times
  • May sort, wash, and accurately deliver linens
