Job Requirements
- Ability to work the specified hours including day shift 7:00am - 3:30pm
- Availability on every other weekend and holidays
- Capability to perform essential job functions satisfactorily
- Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- Ability to communicate effectively with others
- Hearing ability to understand and distinguish speech and sounds
- Commitment to uphold confidentiality
- Physical ability to move furniture and complete cleaning tasks
- Willingness to comply with safety and regulatory standards
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- One to three months related experience
- Ability to perform essential job functions with visual acuity and effective communication skills
- Ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
- Commitment to daily application of Avera's mission, vision, core values, and social principles
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Adherence to safety principles, laws, regulations, and standards such as CMS, The Joint Commission, DHHS, and OSHA
Job Duties
- Maintains a clean and neat environment in working areas including patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse's stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas
- Participates in all cleaning activities such as dusting, washing, drying, mopping, vacuuming, moving furniture, and emptying trash
- Keeps assigned area fully stocked with supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, and other necessary items
- Responsible for maintaining stock on individual cleaning carts including wet and dry supplies
- Maintain good customer relations at all times
- May sort, wash, and accurately deliver linens
