Job Requirements
- Must have one year of relevant experience in hotel, motel, health care, or similar work environment
- Must have ability to read, write, and speak English
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be CPR, CPI, and First Aid certified on date of employment or within 60 days of employment
- Must complete and pass post-offer physical exam and 2-step PPD test
- Must pass criminal background clearance and excluded party sanctions
- Must provide degree or license verification if applicable
- Must have valid driver license, motor vehicle clearance, and proof of auto insurance if required
- Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Must demonstrate good communication skills
- Preferred to have health care experience
- Preferred to have high school diploma or GED equivalent
Job Qualifications
- One year of relevant experience in hotel, motel, health care, or a similar work environment
- Ability to read, write, and speak English to follow written and verbal directions
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- CPR certified or able to obtain within 60 days
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certified or able to obtain within 60 days
- First Aid certified or able to obtain within 60 days
- Successful completion of post-offer physical examination, 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis, acceptable criminal background clearances, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license verification
- Valid driver license, motor vehicle clearance, and proof of auto insurance if driving is required
- Experience in a health care setting preferred
- High school graduation or G.E.D. equivalent preferred
- Good communication skills
- Desire to work with adults with mental illness
Job Duties
- Demonstrates the Telecare mission, purpose, values, and beliefs in everyday language and contact with internal and external stakeholders
- Performs tasks correctly and according to policies and procedures
- Sweeps, mops, vacuums, buffs, strips, washes, and shampoos floor surfaces
- Cleans and dusts furniture, closets, telephone areas, and vents
- Scours, polishes, and sanitizes sinks, counters, stainless steel surfaces, and waste receptacles
- Empties waste receptacles and cleans solid waste containers and transports medical waste to outside storeroom, as directed
- Washes windows and walls, which may involve removing draperies and rugs, as directed
- Washes mops, rags, and linen, as directed
- Gathers and returns needed cleaning supplies and equipment daily to support rooms, as directed
- Distributes the clean laundry from the clean linen closet to the nursing staff, as directed
- Collects dirty laundry from nursing areas and moves it to the loading area for pickup as directed
- Demonstrates knowledge and proper use of equipment and supplies
- Reports defective equipment or needed repairs to supervisor
- Executes facility fire, disaster, and safety procedures
- Assists with management of assaultive behavior upon clinical staff request
- Reports fire and accident hazards to supervisor
