Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior experience in housekeeping or custodial work preferred
- ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- capability to use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely
- physical ability to perform manual cleaning tasks
- ability to communicate effectively in English
- must comply with all safety and health regulations
- willingness to attend training and in-service sessions
Job Qualifications
- experience in institutional housekeeping or maintenance is helpful
- experience in the use of floor care equipment is helpful
- ability to read write and speak the English language
Job Duties
- clean and sanitize patient rooms bathrooms and common areas daily according to facility protocols
- use proper chemicals in proper portions for cleaning tasks
- dust mop wet mop or spot mop floors
- empty trash containers replace liners and dispose of trash properly
- vacuum carpets as directed by supervisor
- wash and dry windows using appropriate chemicals and equipment
- report repair needs to supervisor or maintenance department
- request necessary supplies and equipment from supervisor
- identify and correct safety hazards and comply with safety rules
- attend weekly in-services and comply with patient care management systems
- ensure patient and resident safety
- perform other duties as assigned
