Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in housekeeping or custodial services preferred
- ability to use heavy powered equipment
- physical ability to perform strenuous tasks including lifting up to 45 lbs
- adherence to safety and health regulations
- U.S. work authorization
- successful completion of background checks and drug screening
- registration with Selective Service if applicable
- ability to submit required documents such as education certificates or military discharge papers if applicable
- availability to work at Camp Pendleton, CA
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of proper care and maintenance of carpets and furniture
- ability to handle and control heavy powered equipment
- knowledge of proper uses of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions
- ability to remove different kinds of stains from a variety of surfaces
- ability to read and understand directions on labels and printed instructions
- ability to perform duties independently following general directions
- physical stamina to handle constant standing, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting and climbing
- ability to operate industrial equipment
- ability to lift and carry objects up to 45 lbs independently and over 45 lbs with assistance
- strong customer service and communication skills
Job Duties
- Makes beds, changes sheets, towels, and other linens
- thoroughly cleans guest rooms including dusting, waxing, and polishing furniture
- sweeps floors, vacuums and shampoos rugs
- empties ashtrays and wastebaskets
- sanitizes lavatories
- washes walls and windows using a ladder
- dusts drapes and blinds
- turns mattresses and sanitizes fixtures and bedding with disinfectant
- services each room daily with soap, cups, coffee, etc.
- reports missing or broken articles to supervisor
- occasionally scrubs, strips, waxes, and polishes floors using heavy powered scrubbers and buffers
- washes and replaces Venetian blinds
- washes ceiling fixtures
- moves heavy furniture
- provides world class customer service with emphasis on courtesy
- assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner
- asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems
- checks for satisfaction on quality of goods and services
- takes action to solve problems quickly
- alerts supervisor or proper contact when problems arise
- adheres to safety regulations and uses required safety equipment
- promptly reports hazards, injuries, or property damage
- supports principles of EEO and prevention of sexual harassment
- performs other related duties as assigned
