Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in housekeeping or janitorial work
- ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods
- knowledge of safety precautions and infection control practices
- ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
- willingness to work flexible hours if required

Job Duties
- Performs the day-to-day housekeeping functions
- performs specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments
- coordinates daily housekeeping services with nursing service when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas
- performs assigned tasks in accordance with established housekeeping procedures
- ensures that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive condition
- follows established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment
- ensures that established infection control practices are maintained when performing housekeeping
- coordinates routine and terminal isolation procedures with nursing
- cleans and polishes furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating and cooling units in resident rooms and recreational areas daily
- cleans, washes, sanitizes and polishes bathroom fixtures ensuring water marks are removed from fixtures
- cleans windows and mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance/exit ways
