Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in housekeeping or food service preferred
- Ability to handle physical demands of the job including lifting and standing for extended periods
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English
- Successful completion of Serve Safe Certification and other required trainings
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Reliable transportation to commute to work
- Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain confidentiality
- Must be punctual and dependable
Job Qualifications
- Basic reading writing and mathematical skills
- Communicate effectively in English with employees and residents
- General knowledge of sanitation and safe food handling practices
- Ability to retain orders up to four at one time
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Basic computer skills
- Must successfully complete all Atria specified training programs including Serve Safe Certification
- Able to operate cleaning equipment such as iron washer dryer brooms mops vacuums etc
- Able to work various schedules and shifts as needed and arrive to work on time
Job Duties
- Clean public areas and resident apartments including bathrooms kitchens patios windows floors furniture and common areas
- Perform all housekeeping duties including distributing laundered articles and linens changing beds cleaning public restrooms and replenishing supplies sweeping scrubbing waxing and polishing floors cleaning rugs carpets upholstered furniture and draperies dusting furniture and equipment polishing metalwork washing walls woodwork windows door panels and sills
- Perform all laundry duties including washing drying and ironing resident laundry and community linens folding and or hanging laundry appropriately distributing laundered articles and linens and changing bedding
- Maintain resident laundry areas including mopping floors and washing walls regularly
- Wash windows at reasonable heights throughout the community as requested
- Keep utility and storage rooms locked and in clean and orderly condition at all times
- Disinfect and sterilize equipment and supplies
- Stock cleaning cart with supplies
- Empty wastebaskets and transport trash and waste to the proper disposal areas
- Work with Maintenance to ensure that the trash and dumpster areas are clean
- Report resident issues or changes in health or living status promptly to Supervisor
- Report potentially unsafe conditions or maintenance-related issues promptly to Supervisor
- May perform other duties as needed and or assigned
- Greet residents and guests at each table with a smile to serve beverages cereals and or soups salads
- Courteously and clearly review the menu of the meal take resident orders and serve meals and desserts
- Assist with storage of perishable items if needed deliver trays to resident rooms
- Bus and clear dishes from tables after meals and reset for the next meal following proper sanitizing procedures for tables and chairs as outlined in the Food Service Guidelines
- Vacuum carpets etc
- Complete side work fill sugar holders replenish creamers clean coffeemaker etc
- May perform other duties as needed and or assigned
