Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Experience providing housekeeping and laundry services in a senior or healthcare environment preferred
  • Desire to work with seniors
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Effective communication skills
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to follow safety and infection control procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to provide housekeeping and laundry services in a resident-centered environment meeting quality standards

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work semi-independently following procedures and demonstrating initiative
  • Ability to perform tasks with frequent interruptions

Job Duties

  • Perform general housekeeping duties in resident suites, public areas, and support areas as assigned while meeting or exceeding quality standards
  • Perform cleaning duties according to schedule including sweeping, dusting, mopping floors, spot cleaning, vacuuming, and sanitizing fixtures
  • Knock on resident and public restroom doors before entering and respect privacy
  • Maintain equipment and supplies in clean and orderly condition
  • Transport supplies including clean and soiled linen to appropriate areas
  • Collect trash and maintain trash receptacles in a sanitary manner
  • Collect, clean, and redistribute community laundry
  • Sort, wash, dry, fold, count, and stack linens following approved laundry procedures
  • Inspect linens for wear and tear and handle damaged linens per procedures
  • Maintain commercial laundry in a clean and sanitary condition
  • Assist Care Managers and Department Coordinators with resident care when requested
  • Practice positive resident relations by responding to requests and feedback
  • Review and document pertinent information in Daily Log
  • Ensure cleaning chemicals are stored securely and equipment hazards are managed according to safety regulations
  • Adhere to safety procedures including Personal Protective Equipment, fire safety, and infection control techniques
  • Participate as a team member working toward common goals
  • Attend meetings and maintain compliance with required training
  • Perform other duties as assigned
