Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency
- Training in floor upholstery and carpet care
- Ability to complete HAZCOM MSDS training
- Ability to complete blood borne pathogen training
- Ability to work varying shifts and maintain attendance according to hotel policy
- Ability to comply with hotel rules policies safety and grooming standards
- Maintain neat clean and well groomed appearance
- Ability to pay attention to detail and work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to handle multiple tasks organize prioritize assignments and messages
- Basic mathematical skills necessary to mix proper chemicals
- Knowledge of stain removal and chemical cleaning agents
- Ability to use industrial shampooing buffers scrubbers air lift and other housekeeping machines
- Ability to stand walk for long hours and perform physical tasks such as lifting carrying bending stooping kneeling climbing and reaching above shoulders frequently
- Ability to push pull heavy objects up to 500 lbs with wheeled carts
- Ability to climb ladders up to 8 feet
- Ability to learn and apply hazardous chemical standards
- Ability to cope with complaints and work under noisy environments
- Ability to communicate in English effectively
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency
- Training in floor upholstery and carpet care
- Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred
- CPR and standard first aid certification preferred
- Ability to complete HAZCOM MSDS training
- Ability to complete blood borne pathogen training
- Ability to read write speak and understand English
- Basic mathematical skills necessary to mix proper chemicals
- Knowledge of stain removal chemical cleaning agents and operation of industrial cleaning equipment
- Ability to handle multiple tasks organize prioritize assignments and work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to cope with guest complaints and maintain professionalism
Job Duties
- Dusts mops sweeps scrubs polishes vacuums buffs waxes strips or spot cleans all floor surfaces baseboards furniture and walls including marble terrazzo tile and carpet
- Uses various cleaning techniques and heavy equipment including buffers scrubbers and shampoo machines
- Removes stains and debris from carpets upholstery and walls using brushes cloths and chemical agents
- Sorts separates and transfers linen by type and delivers linen and supplies to linens closet rooms maids and guests lifting up to 50 lbs and pushing pulling large linen bins up to 500 lbs
- Relocates transports and moves guest room and office furniture carpets fixtures linen supplies and equipment lifting up to 500 lbs
- Cleans and dusts high areas such as ceilings air-conditioning units light fixtures and draperies using ladders
- Responds to guest requests providing timely delivery of items such as rollaways cribs and irons
- Reports suspicious persons or activities and hazardous or unsafe conditions to security department
- Assists with inventory management unboxing linens and maintaining equipment and tools for proper working order
- Provides instruction and guidance for guest and employee safety during fire or emergency situations
