Job Requirements
- Ability to work overnight shifts from 11pm to 7am
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 7.5 hours during an 8-hour shift
- Ability to lift and carry weights frequently up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 500 lbs with assistance
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb ladders and reach above shoulders frequently
- Ability to perform repetitive hand motions
- Ability to grasp, lift, bend, stoop and stand for extended periods
- Ability to move heavy equipment and furniture
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders up to 8 feet
- Ability to maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
- Ability to comply with hotel attendance and safety policies
- Ability to read, write and speak English sufficiently for communication
- Ability to work varied shifts including overnight
- High school diploma or equivalency
- Training in floor, upholstery and carpet care
- Ability to complete safety and chemical training
- Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred

- CPR and standard first aid certification preferred
- Ability to complete HAZCOM/MSDS training
- Ability to complete blood borne pathogen training
- Ability to pay attention to detail and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and organize/prioritize assignments
- Basic mathematical skills to mix chemicals
- Knowledge of stain removal and chemical cleaning agents
- Knowledge of operation of industrial cleaning equipment
- Ability to work under noisy conditions
- Ability to handle and cope with guest complaints
- Ability to communicate in English effectively
Job Duties
- Dusts, mops, sweeps, scrubs, polishes, vacuums, buffs, waxes, strips, and/or spot cleans all floor surfaces
- Dusts, polishes and cleans all furniture, columns, pictures, and shelves
- Empties laundry chute and places soiled linen in designated bins
- Shampoo carpets and upholstery
- Removes stains and debris such as gum in carpets, upholstery and walls
- Pre-sorts and separates linen by type and transfers to work areas
- Obtains, delivers/distributes and stacks linens and supplies
- Relocates, transports and moves guest room and office furniture, carpets, fixtures, linen, supplies and equipment
- Cleans and maintains equipment and tools
- Receives and delivers clothes to hotel guests
- Reports suspicious persons or activities and hazardous or unsafe conditions to Security
- Provides instruction and/or guidance for guest and employee safety
- Responds in basic English to guest requests
- Assists in unboxing linens and taking inventories
- Performs various other duties as assigned
