Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a cleaning or housekeeping role preferred
- Ability to work full time, including evening shifts and every other weekend
- Comfortable interacting with patients and hospital personnel
- Ability to use cleaning chemicals appropriately and safely
- Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Willingness to comply with hospital vaccination and drug-free workplace policies
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Experience in housekeeping or cleaning preferred but not required
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and staff
- Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and safety protocols preferred
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning tasks
- Ability to work evening shifts including every other weekend
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently as well as part of a team
Job Duties
- Interact warmly and professionally with patients, families, and visitors presenting a friendly demeanor
- Clean patient rooms daily, sanitizing surfaces and restrooms, removing trash and linen
- Clean ancillary areas including nurses' stations, medication rooms, pantries, utility and storage rooms, waiting and locker rooms, break rooms, and offices
- Perform cleaning in specialty hospital areas such as operating rooms, emergency department, critical care units, labor delivery, pediatric and mental health units, oncology, radiology, labs, therapy areas, pharmacy, and kitchen
- Execute basic housekeeping tasks including vacuuming, dust mopping, damp mopping, low and high dusting, stocking supplies, trash removal, linen delivery, and miscellaneous assignments
- Use appropriate chemicals safely according to guidelines following training and provided tools
- Actively participate in safety initiatives, complete required competencies timely, and comply with safety policies
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management
