Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to interact comfortably with patients, families, and visitors
  • Ability to perform cleaning and sanitizing tasks using appropriate chemicals
  • Willingness to work part-time rotating shifts with variable weekends
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and participate in safety training
  • Ability to complete assigned duties efficiently
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Interact with patients, families, and visitors with a warm smile and friendly demeanor
  • Clean patient rooms daily including sanitizing all surfaces, spot washing walls and windows, removing trash and linen, and cleaning restrooms
  • Clean ancillary areas such as nurses' stations, medication rooms, pantries, utility rooms, storage rooms, waiting rooms, locker rooms, break rooms, and offices
  • Clean specialty areas including OR Suites, Pre-Op and Post-Op areas, Emergency Department, Intensive and Critical Care Units, Labor Delivery Units, Pediatric Units, Mental Health Units, Oncology, Radiology, Labs, Physical and Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, Geriatrics, and Kitchen areas
  • Perform cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, dust mopping, damp mopping, low and high dusting, stocking supplies, removing trash and soiled linen, and delivering clean linen
  • Use appropriate chemicals and follow guidelines when performing cleaning tasks
  • Participate in safety initiatives and complete all safety-related competencies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
