Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous cleaning or housekeeping experience preferred but not required
  • ability to work full time Monday through Friday with variable weekends
  • ability to use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely
  • physical ability to perform cleaning tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods
  • compliance with vaccination and drug-free workplace policies
  • willingness to work in a healthcare environment

Job Duties

  • Interact comfortably with patients, families and visitors presenting a warm smile and friendly demeanor
  • Clean patient rooms daily including sanitizing all surfaces, spot washing walls and windows, and removing trash and linen
  • Clean ancillary areas such as nurses stations, medication rooms, pantries, utility rooms, waiting rooms, locker rooms, break rooms, offices and other locations
  • Clean specialty areas including OR suites, pre-op and post-op units, emergency department, intensive care units, labor and delivery units, pediatric units, mental health units, oncology, radiology, labs, therapy rooms, pharmacy, geriatrics and kitchen areas
  • Perform basic tasks including vacuuming, dust mopping, damp mopping, low and high dusting, stocking supplies, trash and linen removal, and delivering clean linen where required
  • Use appropriate chemicals and follow guidelines for cleaning tasks with proper training and tools provided
  • Participate in safety initiatives and complete all safety related competencies and requirements in a timely manner
