Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- previous cleaning or housekeeping experience preferred
- ability to interact pleasantly with patients, families, and hospital visitors
- availability to work full-time evening shift hours including every other weekend
- ability to use cleaning chemicals safely and follow established protocols
- commitment to adhere to safety standards and complete training
- ability to perform physical tasks such as mopping, lifting, and bending
- compliance with Corewell Health vaccination and drug-free workplace policies

Job Duties
- Interact comfortably with patients, families, and visitors with a warm, friendly demeanor
- Clean patient rooms daily including sanitizing surfaces, spot washing walls and windows, trash and linen removal, restroom cleaning, dust mopping and damp mopping
- Clean ancillary areas such as nurses stations, med rooms, pantries, utility rooms, storage rooms, waiting rooms, locker rooms, break rooms, offices and other areas
- Clean specialty hospital areas including OR suites, Pre-Op and Post Op areas, Emergency Department, Intensive and Critical Care Units, Labor Delivery Units, Pediatric Units, Mental Health Units, Oncology, Radiology, Labs, Physical and Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, Geriatrics, and Kitchen areas
- Perform cleaning tasks including vacuuming, various dusting, stocking supplies, removing trash and soiled linen, and delivering clean linen
- Use appropriate chemicals and follow guidelines in all cleaning tasks
- Participate actively in safety initiatives and complete all safety competencies timely
- Perform additional duties as assigned
