Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to perform physical cleaning tasks
  • Experience in housekeeping or cleaning preferred but not required
  • Availability to work evening shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
  • Ability to work every other weekend
  • Commitment to a drug-free workplace
  • Compliance with vaccination requirements including MMR, Varicella, Tdap, and Influenza
  • Willingness to complete safety and job-related training
  • Ability to interact positively with patients and visitors
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Experience in cleaning or housekeeping preferred
  • Ability to interact comfortably and positively with patients, families, and visitors
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and use of cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and procedures
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to perform physical tasks related to cleaning duties

Job Duties

  • Interact with patients, families, and visitors with a warm smile and friendly demeanor
  • Clean patient rooms daily, sanitizing all surfaces, spot washing walls and windows, removing trash and linen, cleaning restrooms, dust mopping and damp mopping floors
  • Clean ancillary areas such as nurses' stations, medication rooms, pantries, utility rooms, storage rooms, waiting rooms, locker rooms, break rooms, and offices
  • Clean specialty hospital areas including OR suites, pre-op and post-op areas, emergency department, critical care units, labor delivery units, pediatric units, mental health units, oncology, radiology, labs, therapy areas, pharmacy, geriatrics, and kitchen areas
  • Perform cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, dust mopping, damp mopping, low and high dusting, stocking supplies, trash removal, soiled linen removal, and delivering clean linen as required
  • Use appropriate cleaning chemicals and follow guidelines for sanitation
  • Participate actively in safety initiatives, complete safety competencies, and perform other duties as assigned
