Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Comfortable interacting with patients, families, and visitors
  • Ability to perform cleaning and sanitizing tasks using appropriate chemicals
  • Availability to work full-time evening shifts from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
  • Willingness to work every other weekend
  • Ability to complete safety related competencies and participate in safety programs
  • Compliance with Corewell Health's drug-free workplace and vaccination policies

Job Duties

  • Interact with patients, families, and visitors with a warm and friendly demeanor
  • Clean patient rooms daily including sanitizing surfaces, washing walls and windows, removing trash and linens, and cleaning restrooms
  • Clean ancillary hospital areas such as nurses stations, medication rooms, pantries, utility rooms, storage rooms, waiting rooms, locker rooms, break rooms, and offices
  • Clean specialty areas including operating rooms, pre-op and post-op areas, emergency department, intensive and critical care units, labor and delivery units, pediatric units, mental health units, oncology, radiology, labs, physical and occupational therapy, pharmacy, geriatrics, and kitchen areas
  • Perform cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, dust mopping, damp mopping, low and high dusting, stocking supplies, and delivering clean linen
  • Use appropriate chemicals and follow guidelines for cleaning and sanitization
  • Participate actively in safety initiatives and complete all safety related competencies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
