Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Comfortable interacting with patients, families, and visitors
- Ability to perform cleaning and sanitizing tasks using appropriate chemicals
- Availability to work full-time evening shifts from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
- Willingness to work every other weekend
- Ability to complete safety related competencies and participate in safety programs
- Compliance with Corewell Health's drug-free workplace and vaccination policies

Job Duties
- Interact with patients, families, and visitors with a warm and friendly demeanor
- Clean patient rooms daily including sanitizing surfaces, washing walls and windows, removing trash and linens, and cleaning restrooms
- Clean ancillary hospital areas such as nurses stations, medication rooms, pantries, utility rooms, storage rooms, waiting rooms, locker rooms, break rooms, and offices
- Clean specialty areas including operating rooms, pre-op and post-op areas, emergency department, intensive and critical care units, labor and delivery units, pediatric units, mental health units, oncology, radiology, labs, physical and occupational therapy, pharmacy, geriatrics, and kitchen areas
- Perform cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, dust mopping, damp mopping, low and high dusting, stocking supplies, and delivering clean linen
- Use appropriate chemicals and follow guidelines for cleaning and sanitization
- Participate actively in safety initiatives and complete all safety related competencies
- Perform other duties as assigned
