Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work the evening shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
- Availability to work Monday through Friday and every other weekend
- Ability to perform physical cleaning duties including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods
- Compliance with Corewell Health vaccine requirements including MMR, Varicella, Tdap, and Influenza
- Commitment to maintaining a drug-free workplace
- Ability to participate in safety and risk mitigation initiatives
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Ability to interact comfortably and empathetically with patients and visitors
- Knowledge of basic cleaning and sanitizing procedures
- Ability to use cleaning chemicals safely and effectively
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform physical tasks
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Previous experience in hospital or healthcare cleaning preferred
Job Duties
- Interact warmly and professionally with patients, families, and visitors
- Clean and sanitize patient rooms daily including all surfaces, restrooms, and floors
- Maintain cleanliness of ancillary areas such as nurses stations, med rooms, pantries, utility and storage rooms
- Clean specialty hospital areas including Operating Rooms, Emergency Department, Intensive Care Units, and more
- Perform tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, mopping, stocking supplies, removing trash and soiled linen
- Use appropriate chemicals and follow safety guidelines while performing cleaning tasks
- Participate in safety initiatives and complete required competencies
- Perform other duties as assigned
