Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • part-time availability with rotating shifts including every other weekend
  • ability to perform physical cleaning tasks
  • willingness to use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely
  • good interpersonal skills
  • eligible to work in the United States
  • commitment to comply with Corewell Health's safety and vaccine policies

Job Qualifications

  • high school graduate or equivalent
  • ability to interact comfortably and professionally with patients, families, visitors, and hospital staff
  • knowledge of cleaning and sanitizing procedures
  • able to follow safety protocols and participate in safety programs
  • ability to perform physical cleaning tasks including lifting and bending
  • good communication skills
  • dependable and punctual

Job Duties

  • interact comfortably with patients, families, and visitors with a warm and friendly demeanor
  • clean patient rooms daily including sanitizing surfaces, spot washing walls and windows, removing trash and linen, and cleaning restrooms
  • clean ancillary areas such as nurses' stations, med rooms, pantries, utility rooms, waiting rooms, locker rooms, break rooms, and offices
  • clean specialty areas including OR Suites, Pre-Op and Post-Op areas, Emergency Department, Intensive and Critical Care Units, Labor Delivery Units, Pediatric Units, Mental Health Units, Oncology, Radiology, Labs, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, Geriatrics, and kitchen areas
  • perform basic cleaning tasks including vacuuming, dust mopping, damp mopping, low and high dusting, stocking supplies, removing trash and soiled linen, and delivering clean linen
  • use appropriate chemicals and follow guidelines when performing tasks with proper training and tools
  • participate actively in safety initiatives and complete all safety related competencies on time
  • perform other duties as assigned
