Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Part-time availability with rotating shifts including every other weekend
- Ability to work a 20-hour weekly schedule
- Ability to use cleaning chemicals safely
- Ability to interact pleasantly with patients, visitors, and hospital staff
- Compliance with Corewell Health vaccine and safety policies
- Ability to complete safety training and risk mitigation measures
- Ability to perform physical tasks related to cleaning duties
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Ability to interact comfortably with patients, families, and visitors with a warm and friendly demeanor
- Able to perform basic cleaning tasks efficiently and thoroughly
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety protocols
- Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned duties timely
- Good communication skills
- Previous experience in a healthcare or hospital cleaning environment is preferred but not required
Job Duties
- Interact warmly and professionally with patients, families, and visitors
- Clean patient rooms daily including sanitizing surfaces, spot washing walls and windows, removing trash and linen, and sanitizing restrooms
- Clean ancillary hospital areas such as nurses' stations, med rooms, pantries, utility rooms, waiting rooms, locker rooms, break rooms, and offices
- Clean specialty areas including OR Suites, Pre-Op and Post-Op areas, Emergency Department, Intensive and Critical Care Units, Labor Delivery Units, Pediatric Units, Mental Health Units, Oncology, Radiology, Labs, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, Geriatrics, and Kitchen areas
- Perform basic cleaning tasks including vacuuming, dust mopping, damp mopping, low and high dusting, stocking supplies, removing trash and soiled linen, and delivering clean linen
- Use appropriate cleaning chemicals and follow guidelines while performing duties
- Participate in safety initiatives and complete safety-related competencies and requirements on time
- Perform other assigned duties as needed
