Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
- Ability to work full time evening shifts from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., including every other weekend
- Ability to interact comfortably and positively with patients, family members, visitors and staff
- Ability to follow cleaning protocols and use cleaning chemicals safely
- Must comply with Corewell Health vaccine requirements if applicable
- Ability to participate in safety training and initiatives
- Ability to perform physical tasks required for cleaning duties

Job Duties
- Interact warmly and positively with patients, families and visitors
- Clean patient rooms daily including sanitizing surfaces, spot washing walls and windows, removing trash and linen, cleaning restrooms, dust mopping and damp mopping
- Clean ancillary areas such as nurses stations, medication rooms, pantries, utility rooms, storage rooms, waiting rooms, locker rooms, break rooms, and offices
- Clean specialty hospital areas including operating room suites, pre-op and post-op areas, emergency department, intensive and critical care units, labor delivery units, pediatric units, mental health units, oncology, radiology, labs, physical therapy and occupational therapy, pharmacy, geriatrics, kitchen areas
- Perform routine housekeeping duties such as vacuuming, dust mopping, damp mopping, low dusting, high dusting, stocking supplies, removing trash and soiled linen, and delivering clean linen
- Use appropriate cleaning chemicals following established guidelines
- Actively participate in safety initiatives and complete all safety related competencies and requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
